Welcome to The Police Unity Tour of VirginiaWe Ride For Those Who Died Welcome to the Police Unity Tour of Virginia! Our motto, “We ride for those who died”, has special meaning to our riders and support team staff. We hold in our hearts the memory of every Law Enforcement Officer who has given their all and paid with the ultimate sacrifice for their community and our country. The Police Unity Tour of Virginia is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers and family members from not only Virginia, but all across North America. We all ride for one common cause; to ensure our fallen brothers and sisters are never forgotten. We remember these brave brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement each year by bicylcling nearly 250 miles from the Tidewater area of Virginia to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. Our event takes place over three days, every May 10th, 11th & 12th. On May 10th, the Virginia Chapter (4) is joined by Chapters 8 from Florida and 7 from Southern California, and together begin the trip as one. This year our Send-Off Ceremony takes place on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at High Street Landing, 1 High Street - Portsmouth, Virginia. Over the course of the following 3 days we wind our way through the Commonwealth of Virginia on our way to Washington, DC, where we come together with the remaining chapters from the North. As one UNIFIED group we all pedal our bicycles to the grounds of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Upon arrival at the Memorial we are greeted by the Chairman of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Mr. Craig Floyd. After a few remarks of welcome, our annual monetary contribution to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is presented. To date, the Police Unity Tour has been able to donate over 4 Million dollars to the Memorial Fund. We have pledged to continue to donate at least 1 million dollars every year.
